Ren getting some O2
Rhys all comfy and cozy in Hawaii
Back to the PICU at TarzanaThe last week of February was hectic. Ren developed a fever that wouldn't let up. So off we go to the hospital...again. The stress was too much for mommy, so daddy said that we could take a break and go back home to Hawaii for a couple of days while he stays with Ren in the PICU. Mommy and Rhys got on the next flight home. Rhys was a natural JETSETTER! And as soon as the plane landed, mommy cried and hugged Rhys and whispered..."we're home son!" But at the same time, she missed Ren. Daddy made sure mommy felt okay by telling her that Ren was doing okay and that he was taking great care of him.
Our visit to Hawaii was fun. Mommy took care of all her work stuff and ate some really good sushi! Then at the blink of an eye, we were off to LA to check on Ren. We did have a bonus, grandma came too. And the switch off began, daddy went home and grandma came up.
Today Ren had a PIC line put into his little leg. His doctors said that he will need to be in the hospital for another three weeks to treat his infection. They want to make sure that all of the infection is gone so his heart is clear of infection for the second surgery. They also increased his feed to 75mls and fortified mommy's breast milk to make him gain more weight. Looks like it's working. He gained 75grams and is now alittle over 7lbs. Ren is still working on his bottle feeding. They will transfer him to CHLA to put in a "G tube" to assist with his feedings. No word yet on when that will be. We will let you know. As for now, Ren is doing well. Mommy is coping as much as she can. Daddy is back to work in Hawaii and grandma is here in LA to help mommy with Rhys. And Rhys is a happy HEALTHY baby!

Cute pictures!! They boys are both changing so fast...they are so cute!! It was great to see you guys last week, here in Hawaii! Rhys is so sweet - It was nice to spend some time with him. I can't wait till you are all home to stay. In the meantime, glad that Ren is doing better and getting stronger everyday....he is such a fighter!
